Summary

Castle Hill Resort & Spa was a technical marvel of its time: the first home in the state to be equipped with an elevator and fully wired for electricity. The home retains many design hallmarks, including the grand staircase, Tiffany light fittings and decorative woodwork.

The colours of Vermont are legendary: Alpine white in winter, a florid rainbow through springtime and summer, to the vibrant reds and golds of harvest time. This is New England, but rarely does the old country glow like this!

Castle Hill, however, is pure English heritage. It embodies a Tudor architectural style. Rich, flamboyant and profoundly comfortable, State Governor of Vermont, Fletcher, used European craftsmen to build and furnish his ideal home. A thorough renovation has been completed, the detail restored and new technologies installed without compromising its historical dignity.
