Bovey Castle

Designed with the needs of our independent travellers in mind, each single room is comfortably decorated and furnished. Generously-proportioned single beds, en-suite bathrooms or shower rooms and functional storage space. Single rooms are located in the main hotel or in the mews within the hotel courtyard.

Classic rooms with the emphasis placed firmly on comfort. While minor imperfections such as smaller bathrooms or shower rooms and restricted views make Classic rooms our entry-level accommodation, we have not compromised on the stylish décor that is found throughout our bedrooms. Classic rooms are located in the main hotel or in the mews within the hotel courtyard, with views over the surrounding woodlands.

The Castle rooms at Bovey Castle are distinguished from our Classic rooms by a distinct increase in bedroom and bathroom size. Not quite a castle within a castle, but sufficiently spacious for two adults and a child staying for a longer visit. Located within the main building, Castle rooms offer views of the courtyard and the woodlands beyond.

Rising above our Castle bedrooms are our Superior Castle rooms, with a generously-sized bedroom space and a compact seating area for private dining or work. The view from our Superior Castle rooms is a little sweeter than the one in our Castle rooms; choose from limited access to the glorious Dartmoor countryside or courtyard views.

With unrestricted views over the dramatic Dartmoor countryside and sizable bedrooms and bathrooms, our Valley Castle bedrooms reflect the chic experience of country house glamour that the hotel is renowned for. Valley Castle rooms benefit from a small but relaxed seating area, which can be enjoyed by a couple or a family with one child. Country living starts in a Valley Castle room.

Our Junior State or Family rooms are exceptional open plan rooms that reflect the effortless luxury of Bovey Castle. The spaciousness of these bedrooms make a Junior State room an appealing choice for space-seeking couples or families who wish to share the same room. The seating area in this bedroom can be converted into your own table for two for romantic room service, or to accommodate two children on a sofa bed.

Admire the stately surroundings from the modest grandeur of our State rooms, beautifully-appointed and individually-decorated open plan rooms. Each room has a king bed and a luxuriously-large seating area that includes a table, chairs and sofa. Families are easily accommodated within State rooms, with the seating area transformed into a private bedroom space for two children. Guaranteed, uninterrupted views of the surrounding valley are just one of the many appeals of these bedrooms.

The Grand State experience at Bovey Castle gives you the choice of our four finest hotel bedrooms and suites, each imposing in size and designed to impress. We use a bespoke booking service to allocate guests each of the rooms within this category because of their individual design and layout. If you are looking to enjoy Dartmoor and the English sunshine in seclusion, we can offer you an open-plan suite with its own private balcony and sun loungers. If golf is your game, we would recommend a one-bedroom suite with bird's-eye views over Bovey Castle's first tee. All Grand State rooms feature unrivalled views of the 400-acre estate and Dartmoor National Park, open-plan or private lounge spaces to host family and friends, king-size beds, separate shower rooms and bathrooms with roll-top baths. Every item of furniture, art and linen has been chosen specifically to complement the luxurious hospitality of these lavish bedroom retreats.

These granite built lodges are situated in a quiet area of the grounds just a few minutes walk from the main hotel. They are ideal for privacy and peace and quiet, and are designed to be a "home from home". Each lodge is individual in design and décor, is built on 3 levels (except one which is built on 2) and has 3 ensuite bedrooms, an open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge, a guest bathroom, a utility room with washer/dryer, and gas flame effect fire. They are fully equipped with all the facilities and amenities you would need. The kitchen has a large fridge, freezer, dishwasher, waste disposal, kettle, toaster, microwave and all utensils and cutlery. Each lodge has it's own entrance, terrace, and decking area, and opens up on to the grounds.
