What's this?

15 March 2012

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:

  1. Situated on the sea-front of Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar.

  2. Stone Town has been designated a ‘World Heritage Site’ and within easy walking distance of the Serena Inn are ancient palaces, old forts, churches, mosques and the old slave market.  Also convenient for excursions to neighboring islands and wildlife reserves.

  3. Serena Inn is approximately 15 minutes from Zanzibar International Airport with flights to many Tanzanian domestic airport and other east African countries.

Overview:

A cool and calm oasis minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Stone Town.

The old buildings have been sympathetically restored and converted retaining much of the splendor of yesteryear.  The swimming pool and the adjacent bar, overlooking the beach, offer welcome relief in the heat of the day and it’s also the place to enjoy a ‘sundowner’ and watch the sunset over the azure waters of the Indian Ocean.  The hotel has two restaurants, one offering all-day dining of international cuisine, the other offering a selection of freshly caught sea-food, both with views out to sea.  In addition there is a coffee shop, the pool terrace and of course the bar.  Although some of the bedrooms are small, they are comfortably furnished with 24-hour room service, air-conditioning, WiFi, satellite TV and mini bar.

Mystery Inspectors explained:

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) places great emphasis on its inspection process and believes in the importance of using 'real' guests rather than retired hotel inspectors to provide a valuable assessment of the hotel, its facilities and the quality of service provided. Enlisting guests in the quality control programme not only enables SLH's customers to be directly involved in the process but allows the hotels to shape operations based on their guests' opinions and experienced insight. As far as the hotel is concerned, this means that every hotel guest is a potential inspector.
