Punta Islita

Directions

From San José to Punta Islita by the Tempisque Bridge. Take the highway north towards Puntarenas and Liberia, you will pass Puntarenas after 2 hours, keep driving around 50 minutes until you find a sign to your right hand that says "Puente La Amistad " and "Punta Islita", cross this bridge and drive to Nicoya, from there to Sámara and Carrillo [it is only one main road and you will see signs along the way], once passed Carrillo you will find a ballast road, keep driving until you find Hotel Sueño Tropical to your left hand and the sign that says "Punta Islita 9km".  You can turn to the right and check the water level (Winter Time), if it is too high turn around and follow the same road you were before until Santa Marta, then Santa María, San Martín and El Carmen. Before you get to El Carmen will find a white and brown wood fence to your left hand, turn to the left at the end.  At the end of that road turn to the left again and from there it is 7km to the Hotel.

*The Islita Airstrip/Hotel Punta Islita ground transfers take about 15 minutes and cost $20.00 per
person round-trip. This service is provided by local transport micro-entrepreneurs but can be
paid and scheduled with the lodging reservation.
