Lovely people—both staff and fellow guests. This is the kind of small hotel where the high caliber of the guests and staff really makes a difference. This gave the Leopard Bar and Lounge its unique and very charming character. It did indeed seem like a bar out of countryside England and we wouldn’t be far off ordering a Pimm’s and lemonade!

A slightly formal air—so nice in Florida which is more commonly noted for Disney and Orlando or the excesses of South Beach. A glass of sherry was offered at check in and you could enjoy afternoon tea surrounded by exquisite décor and paintings. If only the staff all sported British accents! The curios in the various lobby cabinets demanded further attention. I do believe Rudyard Kipling would have been right at home here perhaps spending his time between the charming lobby and the vaguely “Indian like” Leopard Bar and lounge.

Location-pleasant non-commercial neighborhood, nice walk to the beach , some restaurants, and shopping on Worth Avenue.. Very close to Flagler museum on “Whitehall” Street which was railroad magnate Henry Flager’s home as he built railroads to the keys and an example of the gilded age of Florida. Also nearby is the Norton Museum home to artwork from many American and international artists. It sponsors Art after Dark programs including a wide variety of activities on Thursday nights. Have a cocktail at the Leopard lounge or perhaps in the garden and hightail it over to the Norton between 6and 9 pm, perhaps returning to the Leopard for a good dinner or dessert.
Overview:
Pleasantly old-fashioned in an English way.
Seemed like an English country house in an upscale neighborhood. And the guests and staff were relaxed and extremely pleasant. Put your head on the comfortable and stylish pillows in your room, observe the country décor, then close your eyes and dream that you are in a lovely country home in England. Wake to birds and flowers outside your window and a delicious country breakfast from room service or in the garden café or perhaps by the pretty pool. You’ll be singing “God Save the Queen” in no time even without a tasty eye-opener from the Leopard Bar. Later you can shed all your pretensions (and some of your clothes) for the lovely pink and white toweled lounge chairs at the pool or take a leisurely stroll to the beach. Shoppers beware—you will pass some of Worth Avenue’s temptations on the way.

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:
-
Churchill’s Cigar Room – for cigar fans, this was a comfortable, cosy area in which to relax and enjoy your favorite cigars. There is a television and a computer, and plenty of lounge space and spirits available, as well as humidors for your cigar supply.
-
Proximity to Worth Avenue – the shops, restaurants and piazzas of Worth Avenue are a short two-block walk from the hotel. Unfortunately, that means that you may have to carry all of your shopping bags back to the hotel! But I’m sure you can arrange for a taxi to retrieve you and your new purchases.
-
Leopard Lounge – the chef’s execution of classic standard dishes was excellent, and the service was wonderful.
Overview:
The hotel is small, charming and a little quirky – almost like an inn or bed-and-breakfast - located in Palm Beach close to the Worth Avenue shopping area. It is a nice alternative to larger hotels in the area that cater to conventions and big corporate/business events. The restaurant is pleasant and the chef displayed a top-notch preparation of traditional dishes. Guests feel like they are staying in a quiet residential area of the city, and the staff contributes to that intimate experience. As there are no leisure facilities available at this property, I believe that it is best suited for a traveler that values individuality over some of the conveniences found in contemporary hotels.
