It is sometimes the case that “old world” hotels, i.e., hotels in grand, historic buildings, suffer from a lack of updating, but the Huntington is as up-to-date as you can get without sacrificing any of its impressive old world charm. The lobby is plush, the flower displays are gorgeous, the oil paintings beautiful and the woody, club-like bar and restaurant the kind of place you’d like to spend your whole day (great house selection of Napa and Sonoma wines, by the way!). And, where the hotel and restaurant are old world sophistication, the spa and pool areas are modern, sparkling clean and also comfortable enough to spend half your day. There is a fireplace by the pool!! Can’t beat that.
