Mystery Inspector's Reviews

What's this?

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:

  1. Grounds – the hotel grounds are exquisite.  As you walk around, you can’t get over the sheer beauty of your surroundings.

  2. Restaurants – the food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) was delicious.  I am still dreaming about my breakfasts there!

  3. Location – ideally situated in Seminyak, close to everything.  A quick stroll to the famous Ku De Ta, and a nice walk to great shopping in Seminyak/Legian.

Overview:

The Oberoi Bali is the perfect hotel for someone that wants to be in the center of it all.

While it has a larger hotel feel, the staff treats everyone with individualized service.  The pool service is great and the grounds are gorgeous although quite spread out.  Definitely upgrade to a villa, as the lanais are on the smaller side.  You will not be disappointed!

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:

  1. The Oberoi Bali is situated in a prime location in the Legian/Seminyak area – near enough to many well known local restaurants/bars (eg. Ku De Ta) but far enough away from Kuta. The resort has prime beach (public) frontage stretching approximately 500 metres – with direct guest access to the public
    beach.

  2. Impeccable service – exceptionally high standard. All the staff, from front office down to the groundsmen are well drilled and make the guests feel very special (do not miss an opportunity to greet guests).

  3. This is a great example of a mature traditional Balinese style hotel with a mixture of accommodation (Lanais and villas with their own pool and spa), set amongst beautifully manicured gardens and grounds. Open air breakfast overlooking the beach under colourful tasselled Balinese umbrellas is a unique feature. Breakfast is table service only, which adds to the guest experience and their engagement with the well trained staff.

Overview:

The Oberoi Bali is timeless and graceful resort with traditional Balinese style and absolute public beach frontage. The mature grounds and gardens are impeccably landscaped, well groomed and full of flora and fauna (eg. beautiful song birds etc). This adds to the charm of the setting. A treatment at the spa (eg Balinese massage) is not to be missed and is great for stress
management. The SLH Club gourmet package served at the Kura Kura restaurant was a highlight – 7 course degustation menu of beautifully crafted morsels teamed with sparkling, white and red wines (all included in the price). The dining room service was impeccable. Complimentary afternoon tea daily served overlooking the beach at the Amphitheatre (adjacent to the pool) from
4 – 5.30 pm is a nice touch.

Mystery Inspectors explained:

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) places great emphasis on its inspection process and believes in the importance of using 'real' guests rather than retired hotel inspectors to provide a valuable assessment of the hotel, its facilities and the quality of service provided. Enlisting guests in the quality control programme not only enables SLH's customers to be directly involved in the process but allows the hotels to shape operations based on their guests' opinions and experienced insight. As far as the hotel is concerned, this means that every hotel guest is a potential inspector.
