Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:
-
Ambiance – when I saw the view from my villa, my jaw dropped open. I have never seen such a setting in all my life. It felt like I was on the set of Jurassic Park, just surrounded by lush greenery everywhere!
-
Service – you were treated like royalty here. The complimentary hotel shuttle into town was a great added bonus, and everyone went above and beyond to make sure all requests were taken care of.
-
Design – the room, from décor to layout was beautiful.

The moment I stepped into my villa, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The layout of the bedroom/bathroom was very interesting. There were no doors for the bathroom and everything was open plan. The views from the villa are truly unbelievable. The service was top notch and I had to remind myself how lucky I was to be a guest there!

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:
-
Stunning rustic location in Ubud, with spacious and luxurious villas set high up on verdant terraces looking down on a steep valley and river below. Just a short stroll away, the Viceroy Bali is surrounded with a rural setting of farming and rice growing land.
-
If you want a place to escape and totally unwind then this is hard to beat; it is so peaceful and relaxing. There was nothing nicer than lying in the cabana listening to sound of the river below.
-
Exceptionally high standard of food and beverage at Cascades Restaurant – accompanied by entertainment on the night we dined (authentic and skilled Balinese dancing and definitely not a cheesy ‘for the tourists’ version).
Overview:
The
Viceroy Bali in Ubud Bali is a contemporary masterpiece of design. It has 11 villas (soon to be 25) clinging to the side of a steep valley with a certain ‘shangri-la’ quality about it (a secret shared by only a lucky few) overlooking a lush valley and (for some) the river below. The design of this boutique luxury hotel is breathtaking – inside and out. The stylish villas are beautifully finished with modern classy fittings and views over across the valley. Sitting on the villa’s terrace taking in the variety of beautiful flora and fauna (eg. cacophony of insect and bird life) or a dip in the plunge pool was memorable. Some other experiences to highlight: sunset cocktails at the bar, free shuttle to Ubud (town & markets) or a walk around the surrounding rice paddies and further on to a nearby bird habitat before dusk.
