San Want Residences Taipei - Reviews

Mystery Inspector's Reviews

What's this?

19 April 2010

Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:

  1. This gorgeous “city” hotel is in a very central location in downtown Taipei on the main Nanjing East Road, very close to the best shopping, restaurants and business locations with taxis abundant immediately outside the door. The concierge staff is phenomenal, so you should be sure to utilize their expertise during your stay in connection with your travel, shopping and dining needs.

  2. Immaculate, peaceful, art-filled oasis in an otherwise slightly hectic city. Really ideal for for short-term romantic stays as well as long-term stays as this place tops, by far, any short/mid-term rental options in Taipei in terms of quality of room, location and service.

  3. Super-attentive staff who are there to answer queries and attend to your needs from the second you step out of your cab at the hotel’s entrance to the time they put your bags in the car upon your departure. The service offered in this hotel is of the highest professional level whilst also being very warm and “personalized”.

Overview:

This is a city hotel, so not much to offer in terms of in-room dining and restaurant (other than a breakfast room), but in Taipei (one of the food capitals of Asia) you only need go to the concierge desk for the hotel to organize every conceivable option for dining…or shopping. The staff was plentiful, friendly and highly attentive without being overbearing or fawning. Somehow they’ve been infused with genuine enthusiasm for their job and for this lovely place in which they work. In addition to being a sumptuous hideaway hotel for couples, the hotel has the serenity, sophistication and high level of service for business travelers who want to avoid the hustle-bustle and hit or miss experience of large hotels. This hotel provides a very personalized, attentive experience that would only be enhanced on each subsequent stay.

"Great service, perfect room amenities for business traveler" Stayed at most 5 star hotels in Taipei, this is the kind of hotel segment Taipei I have been waiting for. Great beds and room amenities (even a printer) and Internet access is free.

Mr Juergen F. Oct2009, Germany

Hotel très bien situé en centre ville et de taille raisonnable. Chambre vaste et bien décorée, avec une très belle salle de bain. Personnel éfficace et agréable, propreté irréprochable.

Mr. Eric Lyon 4July2010, France

"A full service hotel" I was blown away by just about everything. Has a boutique feel, like staying at a very exclusive club. Exceptionally professional staff with no "fake smile" service. Room and breakfast were far preferable with outstanding quality.

"Exceptional Service Hotel" - Always available to greet you, open doors for you, assist you with maps, and get you a taxi. The staff made every effort to remember us and our breakfast special orders. Book with this hotel, you will be glad that you did!

“Une pierre précieuse”- Hotel de charme. Très bien situé à Taipei pour visiter. Statue originale dans le hall, chambre décorée avec goût. Salle de bain fabuleuse. Internet gratuit. Bon petit déjeuner. Sallon de lecture fabuleux. Service exemplaire.

Mr. P Kirsch 14 Nov 2011, Belgium

We booked the hotel after seeing good reviews on trip advisor. Rooms were large and well furnished. Flat screen tv and superb bathrooms with a stone japanese style soaking tub. Staff were super friendly and breakfast pretty good for an inclusive buffet.

Ms Fay D. April2010, United Kingdom

"One Excellent Stopover!”From the moment at the airport to the moment we were dropped off we could not rate highly enough the service. The room was everything they stated on their web site! Indeed a haven from the hustle and bustle from a city in Asia.

Mr. John 11Dec2010 , Australia

Thank you most warmly for your very kind hospitality. Beautiful interior, clean room, excellent food and friendly smile of the staff, there was a conscious effort to cater toward guests. My best wishes for your success as No.1 hotel in Taipei!

Mystery Inspectors explained:

Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) places great emphasis on its inspection process and believes in the importance of using 'real' guests rather than retired hotel inspectors to provide a valuable assessment of the hotel, its facilities and the quality of service provided. Enlisting guests in the quality control programme not only enables SLH's customers to be directly involved in the process but allows the hotels to shape operations based on their guests' opinions and experienced insight. As far as the hotel is concerned, this means that every hotel guest is a potential inspector.
