Dating back to the mid-19th century, Eichardt’s Private Hotel has a fascinating history. Today, it features just nine hotel rooms and four lakefront apartments in the historic district of Queenstown with marvellous mountain and lake views. Close to designer boutiques and the city’s restaurant district, this is a peaceful lakeside retreat.

A fabulous mix of antiques and contemporary elegance, the overall atmosphere here is one of sophistication and warmth. Tastefully decorated, the suites are extremely spacious with fireplaces and stunning views across Lake Wakatipu. Eichardt’s Bar is most welcoming and serves inspiring dishes throughout the day.

The scenery around Queenstown is awe inspiring. To get a bird’s eye view, take the gondola up Bob’s Peak for an astounding panorama. Eichardt's Private Hotel has been completely renovated to retain its character, provide 21st-century facilities and exploit that magnificent view. So from your princely suite (one of only five), you can watch the ceaseless drama of nature unfold. Breakfast and pre-dinner drinks are taken in The Parlour which, like all the rooms, catches the dancing sunlight from the lake. Magic!

Situated on the ground floor of the hotel with stunning views over Queenstown Bay attaracts hotel guests and locals alike. We serve breakfast from 7.30, followed by lunch and the afternoon and evening offers a wonderful tapas menu to be enjoyed with some of the best wine's and cocktails the region has to offer. Eichardt's oozes the warmth, comfort and style of this beautiful old hotel with amazing views of the lake and mountains. Its sumptuous setting will make any occasion feel that little bit more special.
