Eichardt’s Private Hotel provides an exclusive but informal experience for its guests with privacy, peace and quiet, and the comfort of sumptuous furnishings in its rooms. The suites are exceptionally comfortable and spacious, with high quality furnishings in both the bedrooms and bathrooms, the latter providing a large spa bath and separate shower.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel occupies a prime lakefront position overlooking Lake Wakatipu while being right in Queenstown thus providing easy walking access to all of the town’s attractions. There are glorious views of the lake which provides the opportunity for several water-based activities and lake cruises and easy access to lakeside walks.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel staff are excellent with nothing being too much trouble. They are friendly, efficient and helpful, professional but not intrusive.
Overview:
Eichardt’s Private Hotel enjoys a prime lakefront position in Queenstown, overlooking the glorious Lake Wakatipu. It provides exclusive, luxurious accommodation without a sniff of stuffiness and is your home away from home while you make the most of all that Queenstown and the surrounding district has to offer. There is a traditional feeling to the old hotel with beautiful furnishings that welcome you to your room. The separate Lakeside Cottages have a different ambience and are a short walk from the main hotel and provide comprehensive self-catering facilities.
The Bar Lounge provides a comfortable and cosy venue for breakfast, lunch, all-day drinks and tapas and is a favourite meeting place for locals as well as hotel guests. The barmen were particularly attentive and efficient while being relaxed and informal. They had in-depth knowledge of the extensive winelist and were keen to discuss personal taste and then make recommendations while chatting comfortably with guests, ensuring everyone was looked after without being intrusive in any way.
Drinks and tapas may also be enjoyed in the hotel’s parlour but this was not available during my stay as it had been booked for private use.
All of the staff are helpful and knowledgeable about the area and what is on offer and are more than happy to answer any queries, recommend restaurants for dinner or make activity reservations for guests.
