Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:
-
Interesting, modernized building (it was an old merchant’s house)
-
Very private, with dining area and dining patio off open kitchen (breakfast or drinks only)
-
Well located on quiet street, but the activities of Antwerp are accessible within a short walk.
Overview:
As a very small hotel - it was quite unique with no cookie cutter rooms, maintained old beams and interesting architectural quirks. Yet it had a very modern feel with the other clients at the time of our visit being mostly young Europeans. The couple of people we talked with seemed to be very pleased.
You can easily walk to the center of town through a couple of cobblestone alleys. On the day of our arrival (in the beginning of August) all the museums in town were open until midnight or 1 am (and there was a museum conveniently right next to the hotel called Rockoxhuis). Sunday there was a regional celebration replete with flags, pageantry, and music in the centre of town with costumed participants out and about the town all day.
