Les Jardins de la Villa Hotel

My experience with Les Jardins de la Villa actually began two weeks before my arrival when I started corresponding with the concierge staff to plan a surprise birthday weekend for my wife. I was also asking for help in finding jogging trails as I was preparing for a race and did not want to interrupt my training. In the past, whenever I have requested the assistance of a concierge before arriving at a hotel, the level of attention that I received did not leave me feeling confident. This was not the case with the staff at Les Jardins de la Villa. Within 48 hours of my first email Ludovic and Blaise were sending me recommendations for restaurants, bars and clubs for my wife’s party, in addition to maps with jogging routes for my training. When I finally arrived in Paris I found it extremely quick and easy to make the trip from Gare de Lyon (one of the major stations if you’re arriving by train) to the hotel. Upon checking-in the receptionist already had a package for me from the concierge team containing my jogging route for the day. As I had the afternoon free I went up to my room (upgraded for free for being an SLH member) to change and go for a run in Bois de Boulogne. Despite the cold rainy weather Ludovic walked with me outside to make sure I understood where to pick up the trail. Once I was back from my run, showered and changed the concierge sat with me in the lounge to go over my plans for the evening and to make sure everything was taken care of. Needless to say we had a great evening. It was a real treat to come back to the room later that night to find a complimentary bottle of champagne, macaroons and even ‘pillow spray’ to ease us into a restful sleep. The following day started with a great breakfast taken in the lounge and several cups of strong coffee. Then it was time for one more meeting the concierge for a suggested itinerary before renting bicycles from the Velib’ station located just across the street. We had a great day visiting all the top sites without worrying about traffic, taxi fares or metro schedules and connections, while our bags were safely stored with the hotel. When it was finally time to catch our train home I was thankful once again for the hotel’s convenient location – just minutes from the metro line 1. Once again we were on our way to our connection without having to stress about unexpected traffic jams.
