At first I was concerned about the location of the hotel (most people think that in order to have ‘the Paris experience’ you need to stay in the center – even if it means paying a fortune for a mediocre or rundown hotel). However, once I saw how easy it was to get from the hotel to the Champs Elysee, the Louvre, the Marias and many of my other favorite neighborhoods I didn’t even notice that I wasn’t ‘in the center’. Because Les Jardins de la Villa is right next to the metro line 1, it’s very convenient to get to the top attractions. If you’re arriving by train into Gare de Lyon (as I did) it’s a straight shot from the station to the hotel. If you like to mix your city experiences with some nature or fresh air, you should also consider that the hotel is just steps from Bois de Boulogne (the Central Park of Paris). Last but not least, there is a ‘Velib’ station literally across the street from the hotel. Velib’ is a network throughout Paris where you can rent bicycles by the hour. This is, by far, my favorite way to explore Paris!
