The hotel’s signage is located all over the small town of Saint-Remy so finding it down a small country road is no problem.
The parking lot is small but it was easy to find a few spaces available. The staff at check-in were very friendly and showed me personally to my room.
During the month of September, the temperatures outside matched those indoors, so the hotel’s front door and balconies were all open, inviting in the fresh air. The restaurant offered seating outdoors and allowed for a very comfortable evening meal. Dinner was exceptionally choreographed by an expert staff who noticed every detail, leaving me with nothing to request. The chef was on hand to greet guests, making me feel very special indeed. One of the most memorable experiences I had was during dessert. I was served a small dish of various dessert “bites” that the chef had prepared. I chose to eat a marshmallow covered in sugar but when I placed it my mouth it exploded into crystals that made noises inside my head! I was told it was “sucre péteant” a sparkling effervescence, curious, strange and wonderful!
