Hotel Le Prieure
Overlooking the River Loire
Originally a 12th-century priory that has undergone numerous transformations through the centuries to today’s charming hotel that resembles a chateau. Le Prieuré sits on the banks of the River Loire surrounded by 60 acres of magnificent parkland with superb views of the Loire Valley, a great choice of accommodation and a restaurant with scenic views.
Rooms and suites are housed either in Le Prieuré main building, in the lodge or in country-style residences in the park. All are beautifully decorated in ornate fabrics and with antique furniture and paintings on the walls.
Enjoy the amazing views of the park and the river evident at every turn. In summer, take a dip in Le Prieuré’s outdoor pool, surrounded by loungers and sunshades, or try your hand at mini golf. Visit the range of different troglodyte houses in the nearby villages of Turquant, Parnay, Montsoreau or Souzay. Be sure to try the Saumur mushrooms and Fouée, round puffy bread filled with paté, black pudding or cheese.
