Set in the pretty medieval town of Frankenberg on the River Eder
Standing on a picturesque square opposite the 16th-century half timbered Town Hall with it ten turrets, Die Sonne Frankenberg is the perfect base from which to explore the Ederbergland countryside. A choice of three superb restaurants, a small spa and a fitness centre make this a little spot of holiday heaven.
All the rooms are bright, colourful and relaxing. The decoration in the Sonne-Stuben restaurant reflects historic local customs with old photographs of the town and its famous personalities throughout the years. In the summer months, enjoy traditional German cuisine on the terrace facing the Town Hall.
Discover the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park with its sprawling forests, and the meadows and highlands of Ederbergland. Take a trip to the Edersee for some great water sport or enjoy a round of golf on one of the nearby courses. Return to the hotel for a gourmet dinner in Restaurant Philipp Soldan.

Traditional fare with sophistication
