About the club

The second largest island in the Dodecanese, Kos has ancient Greek and Roman roots, yet there is plenty to satisfy modern tastes. From the idyllic Mediterranean landscapes and pretty whitewashed buildings to the vibrant nightlife, this is an island to be enjoyed on sunny days and starry nights.

Peaceful sandy beaches and lively nightclubs come together on an island steeped in history.

Things to do

Kos is flatter than many other Greek islands, which makes this the ideal place for cycling. You’ll find lots of bike hire outlets, and there are cyclist-only roads too.

Beyond the standard tourist fare of the shops along the beachfronts, you’ll find more traditional boutiques inland. Thyme flavoured honey and olive oil are local delicacies that make great gifts or souvenirs.

Kos was the birthplace of the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates – and you can sit in the shade of the plane tree where he is reputed to have taught his students. The island has also been an important trade centre, and you’ll find fascinating archaeological evidence of settlements from the 7th century BC onwards.

If you head to the beach from Kos town, you might be surprised by how narrow it seems to be. Persevere, and walk along the sand – you’ll find it delightfully secluded.
