Services
Situated on the Praia das Gaivotas cliff overlooking the sea, with a 12-hectare area consisting mainly of magnificent gardens, the Resort has 100 junior suites, 11 suites and 13 apartments. The low-rise architecture is marked by soft lines and colours and appears to have been inspired by Gaudí.
It includes one restaurant of Portuguese cuisine and gourmet, low-calorie menus, and another with theme dinners and barbecues. It also features six outdoor pools of fresh and sea water and one of its main trademark images: the Thalassotherapy and Spa Center, the first in Portugal and one of the most respected in the world.

The upper floor will be totally refurbished. The new restaurant, located on the cliff top with a view overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, will serve Portuguese cuisine with a twist, featuring innovative recipes and quality local produce. Here we will continue to offer the same gourmet, low-calorie menus with fresh produce as always.

The Vilalara Thalassotherapy Center occupies an area measuring 2600 m2 and represents only the best in how the marine climate of the Atlantic and its derivatives are used for therapeutic purposes, providing modern equipment and treatments.
Considered one of Europe’s finest Thalassotherapy & Spa Center, it is managed according to strict rules and complies with the conditions set out in the Quality Charter of the International Federation of Thalassotherapy.
Thalassotherapy is a preventative therapy par excellence. Thanks to the specific activity of the marine medium and the comprehensive and natural monitoring of the body, doctors are able to prevent imbalances capable of harming the metabolism. Seawater is an authentic source of vital elements. Its biological components and physiological composition containing 92 of the 120 known trace elements, similar to human plasma, permit metabolic renewal.
Thalassotherapy considers each case unique and each client follows a treatment specifically adapted to his or her needs. An initial medical consultation determines the treatment plan for each individual. For this reason, the Center provides its clients with doctors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and hydrotherapists trained in the latest Thalassotherapy techniques.
