Top 3 reasons to stay at the hotel:

1. Location, location, location…: Overlooking the Bosphorus in a quieter area of Istanbul, the hotel offers the best views of the Bosphorus and the famous Bosphorus bridge. The area is incredibly busy with all types of boats going up and down - from the smallest fishing boat to much bigger cruise boats and you can sit on the terrace and just enjoy that peaceful view. Istanbul itself is a fantastic city but noisy and crowed, it’s therefore nice to be able to relax in Les Ottomans while still feeling the heart of Istanbul!

2. The hotel; It’s probably one of the smallest and most luxurious SLH hotels I have stayed in. It has only got 10 rooms and in fact - all are suites, most overlooking the Bosphorus. The hotel is designed in such a way that you feel more like a privileged guest of some wealthy friends …There is no reception, the dining room is designed like someone’s living room with a seating area in front of a fireplace, tables nearby and always that impressive view on the Bosphorus. The staff and the quality of service is what you would imagine and expect from an SLH hotel: efficient, discrete, professional and smiling…

3. The Spa….In fact I plan to go back to Istanbul fairly soon on a business trip and I know I will make sure to spare some time for the spa to enjoy a massage. The spa itself is huge, very nicely decorated and once inside you are in heaven. It has exceptionally skilled Asian masseuses and while you are still floating after the massage, you may spend time in the relaxation area on heated ceramic day beds while drinking a detox tea…We couldn’t quite get away from that relaxing atmosphere, so we had an additional Dead Sea plunge pool bath and yes another massage (this time a head massage) while realxing in the very salty water. We left the spa, with the softest skin, relaxed but with plenty of energy well spent discovering the Istanbul Art Biennale.
