April 2012: Cowley Manor and Private Bank, Coutts have partnered to create The Coutts Cowley Manor Arts Award - a unique and inspiring sculpture competition for post graduate students from the world famous Royal College of Art. Of the 27 submissions, eight have been awarded funding to bring their concepts to life. The sculptures will then go on to be displayed at Cowley Manor from 3 May through to 30 September, with the winning sculpture taking up permanent residence in the 55 acre grounds of the Manor’s grade II listed gardens.
A prestigious panel of collectors, artists and entrepreneurs has been hand-selected by Cowley Manor and Coutts to judge the installations and select the winning sculpture. The winner of the award is being announced at an event to launch the exhibition in the grounds of Cowley Manor on Wednesday 2 May.
Hotel residents, restaurant guests and picnic-goers will be able to enjoy the exhibition throughout the summer months, with many of the pieces available for private sale and all proceeds going towards the emerging artists.
Peter Frankopan, owner of A Curious Group of Hotels & Cowley Manor commented: “In its 10th year, Cowley Manor has long been in support of emerging British talent with many original works of art, textiles and bespoke furniture created by British artists, artisans and craftsman displayed throughout the manor and its 30 bedrooms. By partnering with Coutts, the future support and awareness of young artists trained at the Royal College of Art has been made possible.”
Steve Bunn, RCA Sculpture Tutor said: “Having the opportunity to work with Coutts and Cowley Manor on this exhibition has been a fantastic experience for our students. Site specific art like this is a great way to showcase the work of some very talented young artists.”

Newly refurbished in 2010, C-Side Spa features an indoor slate-lined 17 metre swimming pool, an outdoor 15 metre heated swimming pool, a manicure-pedicure area, a full gym, and four treatment rooms. The treatments at C-Side are designed using Cowley Manors own award-winning bath, body and skincare range, Green & Spring, which launched in June 2009 and is retailed at the likes of Liberty, Harvey Nichols and Barneys in the states.

Cowley Manor offers a mid week ‘Spa & Stay’ package from £295 based on two people sharing a double room on a B&B basis and includes two 30 minute treatments and a 3 course dinner.

Taking inspiration from the 55 acre estate at Cowley Manor, the new menus feature modern British classics with a focus on the seasons and locally sourced produce. From an All Day menu to enjoy whenever and wherever you want to a more formal menu served in The Restaurant in the evening - Cowley is set to become a Cotswold culinary destination.
