Baros Maldives Hotel

A castaway atoll, the Essence of the Maldives

On a small private island in the middle of the Indian Ocean is Baros Maldives, a heavenly Eden overlooking a glistening blue lagoon. Elegant, secluded villas with palm thatched roofs are either over water or facing the beach while a PADI diving centre, a spa with a tranquil water garden, several restaurants overlooking the sea and gentle sea breezes are all ensure a holiday in paradise.

Gloriously peaceful, the sandstone and timber beach villas at Baros Maldives are sheltered by large banana leaves and palms while the water villas have a private wooden deck for sunbathing and steps for dipping into the lagoon. Sleek teak flooring, a comfy sofa and designer lighting make these villas extra special.

Wander down the path from your villa past clumps of flowering hibiscus and bougainvillea towards a gleaming white sandy beach set under the deepest blue cloudless sky. Diving in the coral reef just off the Baros Maldives island is a must with its variety of colourful fish, turtles, rays and coral.

Spa

The Spa has recently enjoyed a refreshing change with regards to it’s looks, feel and atmosphere. Entering the Spa Reception, one walks through intricately carved doors, onto stepping stones, embedded within a pond. On either side one’s eyes rest on a beautifully designed garden while gentle sounds of trickling water indicate a place of wellbeing. The spacious, open-air reception sala present a friendly welcome to every guest. Four couple treatment rooms are reachable by walking over a beautiful wooden decking, fringed by lush greenery. Upon entering the treatment rooms, which enjoy an exclusive feel with their private steam room, one is welcomed by a warm and elegant touch of serenity. Two treatment beds in each room promise complete bliss for couples which are encouraged to enjoy the private Spa bath and rain shower, set in a lush tropical garden. At night time diffused lighting and several candles in glass houses guide one back towards the reception and relaxation area. Guests enjoy a hot or cold ginger tea after their treatment and while relaxing on an elegant lounger, enjoy a beautiful garden view to re-join reality. Treatments are designed for pure relaxation while powerful botanical ingredients deliver the promised results. Guests can choose from a wide variety of massages, facials, body exfoliations and wraps and knowledgeable staff are always present to recommend treatment programmes for specific concerns. A great way to wellbeing would be daily Yoga classes which are held in the air conditioned Yoga Pavilion, on decks above the crystal clear ocean waters or even on a sandbank in the middle of nowhere.

    Caring Luxury

At Baros Maldives we aspire to nurture and sustain our unique environment and we have a part to play in promoting sustainable tourism. We are serious in our commitment to the environment in which we live and work and our responsibility to ensure its protection. Therefore we have entered into a number of ‘green initiatives’ in order to make our resort more environmentally friendly such as: re-cycling of all ‘grey’ water which is used, after purification, for irrigation of the garden; installation of led light systems with a longer lifespan and lower electricity consumption; all air conditioning units are cfc free and the units for the guest villas have been fitted with a heat exchange system which heats water used for bathing; all staff accommodation and back of house areas are supplied with hot water from the heat exchange system that is fitted to our generators; all chemicals used for the cleaning of kitchens, restaurants, public areas, staff accommodation, guest villas, boats, and in the laundry are bio-degrade able; our resident marine biologist has conducted an environmental awareness training course for all of our staff and it is a mandatory course for all new recruits; to name a few.
