Offering grand country living with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Hartwell House Hotel & Spa is a former stately home surrounded by 90 acres of landscaped parkland with an intriguing blend of Jacobean and Georgian period features, superb dining and a spa with sauna and steam room.

The grandeur of the house is such that it was once the exiled home of Louis XVIII. Its numerous reception rooms and dining rooms are decorated with rococo plasterwork ceilings and panelling, while carved Jacobean figures line the grand staircase that lead to individually decorated rooms and suites, some with four-poster beds.

Sink into a deep sofa next to a burning log fire and then wander through the gardens to discover temples, an obelisk, canals, statues and a Gothic church. Enjoy a game of croquet or tennis followed by a visit to the spa for a beauty treatment or a relaxing swim in the pool.
