Currently celebrating its fifth birthday, The Luxe Manor remains Asia’s only surrealist-themed boutique hotel. Its uniquely designed rooms and themed suites continue to be hugely popular with not only guests but also industry peers. Among the latter category were the judges at the 2011 China Best Design Hotel Awards who recently honoured The Luxe Manor in the Best Design of Guest Room category. The hangout of choice for discerning music lovers and cocktail fans, the hotel’s signature Dada Bar + Lounge was also nominated in the Awards’ Best Design of Restaurant / Bar category.
Why the China Best Design Hotel Awards is so highly prized
Although only in their third year, the China Best Design Hotel Awards is already a benchmark of the most extraordinarily striking hotels in Greater China. Hosted by China’s leading lifestyle publication, The Bund magazine, the award reflects the views of a discerning, dynamic readership made up of frequent travelers and business leaders. In sourcing nominations for the 2011 Awards, The Bund joined forces with several internationally renowned international hospitality industry leaders such as Design Hotels, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, Leading Hotels of the World plus various sound media. What made the 2011 Awards even more special was the fact The Bund invited readers and members of the public to help choosing the winners in each category.
“A meaningful win of a very prestigious award”
This year’s Award was presented at a ceremony held in conjunction with the 2011 International Design Hotel Forum at Shanghai’s The Peninsula Hotel on 9 December. In all, some 250 distinguished guests including hotel owners and general managers attended the event.
Said The Luxe Manor’s Hotel Manager, Ms. Angel Chan, “Our receipt of this very prestigious award has been made all the more meaningful by the fact that half of our score came from public votes and half from expert professional judges. Our win underlines the continuing popularity of our hotel’s 153 delightfully quirky rooms and 6 elegantly grand and mysterious themed suites among both discerning travelers and industry peers. Spanning everything from a cool blue Nordic setting to a warm luxury Middle Eastern Safari ambience, our suites are an experience that all guests who stay there want to repeat”.
An award-winning end to an award-winning year
