Les 3 meilleures raisons de séjourner dans cet hôtel:
-
The Location – for Skiing - The location of Hotel Crystal couldn’t be more attractive for skiers! Within five minutes of leaving the hotel, one in is sitting in the funicular train and on the way up to the Corviglia Skiing area. Within 20 minutes one is on the slopes. This proximity is even more rewarding after a “hard” days skiing. Upon returning to the hotel the Spa area with its sauna, steam bath and wide selection of treatments awaits the tired skier and allows one to relax before rounding off the day in the Grissini restaurant.
-
The Swiss Chalet Style Rooms - From the outside the hotel appears modern and business-like. However, once inside the Swiss Chalet Style rooms with their traditional Engadine Pine wood furnishings are a welcoming and warming surprise. The doors, ceiling beams, beds and furniture are made to the highest quality and allow the guest to enjoy the best of both worlds – a Swiss-Style mountain Chalet but in the town center. Not only are the bedrooms built to the highest quality but also the marble bathrooms are a delight with their large rain showers.

The hotel Staff and Housekeeping - At all times the hotel staff was friendly, helpful and very professional and made us feel comfortable. The tall Italian Maitre d’ in the restaurant is the perfect gentleman and a real asset to the hotel. He can really make you feel welcome and is genuinely interested in making sure that you feel comfortable and that everything meets your expectations.
Aperçu :
We arrived at Hotel Crystal for an early December, pre-season visit during the early evening on a Friday after a four-hour drive across the mountains.
While we were being shown to our room the porter unloaded our luggage and parked our car. As we had been travelling for some time we made use of the in room dining service immediately which was served promptly and with a smile from their dedicated staff.
The next morning we made use of the hotel’s wellness area with a message from a friendly Italian therapist. As we wanted to have an extended Spa day the reception suggested the Vitaloase in nearby Pontresina which turned out to be an excellent choice. In addition to an indoor and heated outdoor pool, there were two large saunas, which all amazingly allowed an unspoiled view of the snow covered mountains through their glass walls.
That evening we enjoyed cocktails and snacks in the Piano Bar which was frequented by both the hotel guests, skiers and ski instructors. We then moved onto the Grissini restaurant where we had an enjoyable dinner. The tall Italian Maitre d’ who was a real gentleman greeted us in the lounge area and escorted us to our table. As it was not very busy he gave us his full attention.
After our breakfast the following morning we had to take advantage of the sunshine and blue sky and hit the slopes. The hotel commands one of the best locations in St. Moritz with only a short five minute walk up the hill to the funicular train which comfortably takes you up to the Corviglia skiing area in about 20 minutes.
We’ll be back!

Les 3 meilleures raisons de séjourner dans cet hôtel:
-
The Crystal hotel is located ‘in the heart’ of St. Moritz - literally. Other well-known luxury hotels might claim to be centrally located, but after spending a weekend exploring the village, I can tell you that these other properties require a longer walk (uphill in at least one direction) or a shuttle service to comfortably reach the restaurants, clubs & shopping that St. Moritz is famous for. Within 5 minutes of walking (at most) you can find Montcler, Prada and many other high-end shops. Sometimes ‘centrally located’ can also mean ‘a headache’ for those that are arriving with their car. You don’t have to worry about any of this at The Crystal: the hotel is located just off one of the main roads and has a convenient carport. As soon as you pull-up, your luggage will be collected and taken up to your room while someone valet parks your vehicle.

The Crystal Hotel is home to one of the better restaurants in St. Moritz: Ristorante Grissini. After having dined here with my wife (a chef herself), we can confidently recommend this restaurant. The servers were very warm and professional (which is something you will really appreciate if you know how ‘brisk’ the service can be in some ski resorts), the ambiance is elegant and the food is prepared at a very high level. When you book, ask for one of the tables next to the fireplace for a truly romantic setting!

After a full day of skiing (or exploring the hiking & mountain bike trails if you visit during the summer) you will appreciate the spa and fitness center located on the lower floor of The Crystal. If you’re lucky, some ski resort hotels will install a sauna just big enough to hold 4 adults, and never gets hot enough to offer you a truly relaxing experience. The Crystal, on the other hands, has an entire floor dedicated to wellness. After a hard day of sports you can look forward to a great sauna, hamam, scented showers and relaxation room.
Aperçu :
The drive from Geneva to St. Moritz took us through some of the most beautiful sections of Switzerland. If you’re visiting St. Moritz in the summer time, I encourage you to leave some time to get out of the village and explore the stunning nature. Instead of arriving by car or bus (i.e. from Zurich) you may want to also consider the world famous Glacier Express train, where you have the possibility to enjoy the stunning views in a specially designed panoramic cabin. When you arrive to St. Moritz, The Crystal Hotel can send their van to pick you up.
After such a long drive we are appreciative of the speed & efficiency of the check-in process: while we took care of the details at the front desk, a luggage porter sent our bags to the room and parked the car. After a quick change into some warmer clothes (even though the village was basked in golden sunlight, it can get a bit chilly due to the altitude) we were window-shopping through the pedestrian-friendly streets, taking-in the alpine air.
After lunch at a nearby café, it was almost time for my wife’s spa appointment at the hotel. We returned to the room for another wardrobe change (this time into the hotel’s slippers and bathrobes) and headed-down to the wellness center. While my wife enjoyed her massage, I took turns unwinding in the sauna and hamam, before retiring to the relaxation room for an unexpected nap.
Our dinner reservation was for 7:30, which left just enough time for me to enjoy a cigar on the hotel’s rooftop while watching the sunset over the alps and listening to the clangor of dozens of church bells (the village is named after a ‘saint’ after all); before warming-up with an aperitif in the hotel’s Crystal Piano Bar. The Piano Bar has a very elegant atmosphere and offers a good alternative to some of the other more crowded après ski bars you might find.
Dining at Ristorante Grissini was one of the highlights of our weekend. Upon entering the restaurant we were escorted to a beautifully appointed table in front of the fireplace. As previously mentioned, the service and level of cooking at this property is at a very high level.
The next morning, after a great breakfast at Ristorante Grissini, we took one final tour of the village before checking-out and getting ready to explore the rest of the region. Checking-out was just as efficient as our arrival: as soon as we arrived to reception, the staff were ready to handle all of our questions while the porter collected our bags from the room, retrieved the car from valet parking and loaded the car.
