Summary
A glorious former medieval monastery in the heart of Burgundy’s Grand Cru wine country, Château de Gilly used to be the residence of Cistercian monks. It has now been transformed into a secluded retreat with refined cuisine, beautifully manicured French-style gardens with a moat and a river.
Classically beautiful, the château’s historic legacy is evident in every room, especially in the magnificent vaulted gourmet restaurant, Le Clos Prieur. Take a tour of the wine cellar, which is home to an impressive collection of over 25,000 bottles of Burgundy appellations and Grand Crus.
In the winter months, relax with a book in front of the drawing room’s roaring fire, play billiards or unwind with a massage or body treatment. Summer activities include swimming, archery, golf and hot-air ballooning.

Gilly-lès-Cîteaux Vougeot, between Dijon and Beaune, opposite prestigious Clos Vougeot Castle and vineyard.
