Redeeming a Gift Certificate

We are delighted that you have received or have purchased a Small Luxury Hotels of the World Gift Certificate. Here are instructions to help you redeem your certificate.

STEP ONE: Identify which type of gift certificate you have

Look at the serial number in the bottom left hand corner of the certificate.

For Monetary Value gift certificates (where a value is printed on the front, eg ‘FIFTY’) there will be six characters. The first two characters show you the type of certificate:

For Unique Experience or Luxury Break gift certificates (where an experience is printed on the front, eg ‘ GOURMET’) there will be ten characters. The first six characters show you the type of certificate. There are two tiers of hotels – referred to as Gold and Black.

STEP TWO: Identify which hotels accept your gift certificate

Monetary Value Gift Certificates are accepted by all hotels and can only be redeemed against reservations made on SLH.com. Kindly note that Monetary Value Certificates cannot be accepted if the reservation must be pre-paid at time of booking. When you book online please mention in the Special Requests section that you will use your gift certificate as full or part payment for your stay.

Only participating hotels accept Unique Experience or Luxury Break gift certificates. Simply click on the relevant code in the table above to see the list of participating hotels for your certificate (opens a pdf in a new window). Reservations can only be made by calling the hotels directly. Telephone numbers are included for each hotel.

Additional information

  • All gift certificates are valid for 15 months from date of issue. You will find the date of issue on your certificate in a white box.
  • Gold tier certificates are ONLY valid in Gold tier participating hotels.
  • All Black tier certificates are also valid in Gold tier participating hotels.
