Spa
From its conception SAMAS was designed to soothe and revive the tension, stress and fatigue that greet our everyday. Even in ancient Ireland they had a Gaelic word from SAMAS "indulgence of the senses". Today you can enjoy the virtues of this bygone age in a special and quite unique place that blends healing and therapeutic traditions from the East and West with the life inspiring scenery of Kerry to revive the body, mind and soul.

Caring Luxury
Environmental Charter:
Park Hotel Kenmare Partnership Program
Nearly half a century before ‘Reduce, Reuse & Recycle’ became catchwords, the Park Hotel Kenmare was founded on an enduring connection to the land and community around Kenmare.
As of 2010 we joined the Green Tourism Business Scheme to offer our customers a more sustainable choice whilst staying with us. As a result we have reduced our carbon footprint by purchasing locally, improving our energy efficiency, conserving water, reducing our landfill waste and many other measures.
We have identified 8 key areas of the business in order to contribute greatly to our environmental sustainability going forward. These are as follows –
• Marketing & Management
• Social & Communication
• Energy
• Water
• Waste
• Purchasing
• Travel & Transport
• Natural & Cultural Heritage
The program focuses on improvements in the areas of waste management, energy and water conservation, as well as a strong element of community outreach through local groups and partnerships. This will give us a clear vision for sustainability and encompasses everything from recycling and organic waste diversion in the hotel’s kitchen to retrofitting energy efficient lighting. Good Food Ireland recognized the efforts of the Park Hotel Kenmare by awarding us the Energy Efficiency Award in 2008. This prestigious award recognizes and promotes Ireland’s leading examples of best practices in responsible tourism development.
Park Hotel Kenmare & Reenagross Woodland Park Project:
Reenagross – ‘The head of the crosses’ or ‘The Muddy Point’ was a private park that was developed by the Marquis of Lansdowne from a sandbank and waterlogged piece of his estate, almost two hundred years ago. Sixty years ago, the Park was leased to the Kenmare Development Association for a nominal rent of ten shillings. In more recent times Kerry County Council holds the lease and has assumed responsibility for the maintenance of the Park. We came on board as active sponsors of Reenagross from the early 1980’s and have been very proactive in nurturing and sustaining this project. Each year we employ a young student from Inbhear Sceine the local Secondary school for a few hours weekly to clean and maintain the park for everyone’s enjoyment. We have detailed brochure at reception regarding the park and its flora and fauna.
