An impressive ivory Belle Epoque palace, renovated in 2009, Grand Hotel Majestic sits high on a promontory that juts out into Lake Maggiore. Majestic in every sense, it has sweeping views and is surrounded by delightful English gardens with a small secluded beach, a wellness centre, a gastronomic restaurant and a private jetty.

This is a truly exquisite retreat. Grand colonnaded balconies, overlooking the lobby, lead to spacious, classically-styled rooms and suites. Most of the rooms, many with balconies, have spectacular views of the lake, mountains or the Borromean Islands.

Unwind and relax on the private beach, or opt for an indulgent massage.Go kayaking with native gold medal kayak racer Beniamino Bonomi. Hire a boat and discover Palazzo Borromeo on Isola Bella, then return to the hotel for the freshest local fish in La Beola Restaurant, followed by a drink on the terrace overlooking the lake.
