An attractive 18th-century mansion house that has been an inn since 1912, Peacock Inn has played host to a number of illustrious guests including Bertrand Russell, Albert Einstein and F. Scott Fitzgerald. This historic inn has just 16 individually designed rooms, an intimate bar and lounge, and an excellent restaurant all set in a leafy tree-lined street in the centre of town.
Steps lead up to a delightful front porch that stretches across the front of the building. Inside Peacock Inn, the decorative style is beautifully classic with a timeless elegance. The rooms incorporate modern touches in both the décor and a number of the rooms have decorative fireplaces.
Wander down Nassau Street and into Palmer Square for boutiques, restaurants and cafes. Princeton is of course famous for its Ivy League university, so take a walking tour of the charming campus, dating from 1754, and visit the chapel and the art museum with its Chinese and classical art collections. Be sure to savour the ‘New American’ cuisine in the Peacock Inn Restaurant.
Princeton, New Jersey. Close to upmarket boutiques and restaurants. 43 miles from New York Newark Liberty International Airport.
