Tanjong Jara Resort

Inspired by a 17th century Malay palace, Tanjong Jara Resort is set between unspoiled jungle and golden beaches on the east coast of Malaysia. Reflecting the ancient Malay way of life, the Spa Village is set within pool sand gardens, while dining is determined by the day’s catch. Spacious accommodation overlooks the South China Sea.

The atmosphere here is authentically Malay with a strong emphasis on relaxation and spiritual healing. The Malay concept of Sucimurni emphasises purity of spirit, health and wellbeing, an approach used in the Spa Village treatments. The chef is a culinary master at East Coast cuisine and shares many secrets in cooking lessons.

Take a half-day cruise up the Marang River to spot monkeys, iguanas, and sea eagles, or go on a jungle trek. Get a glimpse of rural village life and watch artisans creating batik and weaving or go on an exhilarating hike to the Chemerung Waterfall.
