Attracted by its beauty, artists and craftsmen flocked to it, as did Nathalie and Loïc Tenoux, who created Casa Natalia in a sleepy corner of this ancient village. ‘Casa’ means ‘home’ rather than ‘house’ and the distinction is immediately apparent.

This is a mosaic of Mexican lifestyle inlaid with luxury European accommodation, including 16 guest rooms adorned with indigenous art and artifacts. As dusk falls, owner-chef Loïc Tenoux weaves his magic: a blend of Mexican and European cuisine. Dining alfresco, surrounded by palm trees, waterfalls and the brazier-lit swimming pool, is magical.
