An elegant, modern city sanctuary in a peaceful setting next to Hagley Park yet steps from the cultural centre of Christchurch. The George has two superb restaurants, displays of contemporary art and chic stylish Cocktail Bar and lobby.

The hotel’s interiors are subtle and smart, decorated in natural tones with lithographs on the walls. Although ultra-chic at every turn, the ambience is incredibly warm and welcoming.

Take a walk in the delightful city park or go punting on the river Avon. Then step into the nearby cultural precinct and discover the historic Tram, Canterbury Museum, the Arts Centre and Christchurch Art Gallery. Return to the hotel for relaxed casual dining in 50 on Park or gourmet Pacific Rim cuisine in Pescatore. The George will be closed from the 3rd August to 6th September 2009 for the last phase of their refurbishment.
