Miramar Barcelona
Summary
An avant-garde hillside palace with far-reaching city views, Miramar Barcelona is a restored landmark originally built in 1929 for the World Fair. Situated above the Las Ramblas neighbourhood it offers spacious rooms with balconies and Jacuzzis, indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, a bar and restaurant serving fine catalan and international cuisine.
The commanding exterior is refreshingly unusual. A blend of modern layered blocks of stone and glass extend either side of the original imposing central façade. There is a stunning outdoor pool with all-day bar service, and the rooms and suites are large and light, decorated in chocolates and creams with big windows and lovely views.
After relaxing at the spa and pools, walk down to Las Ramblas. This buzzing quarter of Barcelona is filled with musicians, street theatre, artists, cafés and attractions including the Wax Museum, Palau de Mar Museum and fresh food Boqueria Market.
