Summary

Wentworth Mansion has been converted into Charleston’s premier luxury inn. A recipient of the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since 2003 – it remains Charleston’s only Five Diamond property and is rated No.6 in the US on the Condé Nast 2006 Top 100 list.

Emulating the 1880s fashion for all things French, this ‘cotton king’s’ grand mansion was only decorated with the best – Tiffany glass, Italian marble, carved-wood panelling and crystal chandeliers.

Its 21 enormous bedrooms are furnished with kingsize beds, period antiques, fireplaces and contemporary luxuries such as whirlpools, separate showers and high-speed Internet connections. Inside the historic carriage house on the manicured lawns, guests can experience the award-winning Circa 1886 restaurant. However, its crowning jewel is the rooftop cupola – offering a 360-degree panorama of the historic Charleston peninsula. Sundowner in hand, it is a breathtaking experience.
