Wilmington is home to a wide diversity of cultures, each of which likes to celebrate. So you’ll come across festivals all the way through the spring and summer. The Italian festival takes place every June, or you could choose to visit for the Greek festival, Polish festival, IndiaFest... the choice is yours.
The Delaware Art Museum is a must-see for any culture aficionado – it’s home to paintings by Edward Hopper, amongst other renowned artists. As you meander Wilmington, stop by the Delaware Centre for the Contemporary Arts in the picturesque Riverfront area of town.
Brandywine Valley is justly known as one of the most beautiful expanses of countryside in the area. It stretches into Wilmington and you can drive along from your luxury hotel. Make time to visit a vineyard on your journey, and sample a glass or two of wine.
If you’re feeling thirsty, look out for the local tipple, Dogfish Head. This beer is brewed in Delaware and becoming popular across the US.
