When to Go
Bulgarian summers tend to be warm and dry – ideal if you’re planning to venture into the great outdoors, or relax along the Black Sea coast. In fact, you can bask in the sun and enjoy a pleasant dip right into September. For theatre season, visit Bulgaria in spring (April-June). When winter comes along and the snow begins to fall, the country’s picturesque ski resorts are the perfect retreat.
Take a private tour through the wooded Rila Mountains. If you’re lucky, you might spot Alpine ibex or the elusive brown bear.
