Introducing Bled

The landscape here seems like a film set, with an idyllic lake and a church set on an island, a medieval castle towering above you, and rugged mountain peaks in the distance. No wonder Bled is a firm favourite with romantics and honeymooners.

Things to do

SPORTS
Triglav National Park is the perfect place to get out and about. Cycle down forest paths, take a ‘pletna’ boat out onto the emerald green lake, or even go ‘canyoning’ if you’re feeling truly adventurous.

WATER
Castle Bathing Area offers lots for families, including waterslides, spas, swimming pools and other activities like climbing walls. You can also swim across Lake Bled and around the island.

LANDMARKS
It’s a steep climb to Bled Castle, but it’s well worth the trek. This is a picturesque Romanesque stronghold that has its own chapel and museum. There are great views from the terrace, and a wine centre too.

Top Tip from SLH

You’ll find one of the best views of Bled at Iglica Waterfall. Walk up the steps and take in the vista from the top.
