Sotogrande was purpose built by the Zobels, an enterprising couple who saw the potential of a glorious location on the Mediterranean. It’s now a favourite with jet setters and A-listers, and has a natural beauty all its own.
A luxury sports complex in an idyllic location – that’s Sotogrande.
Things to do
Surrounded by eight 18-hole courses, Sotogrande is heaven for golfers. Valderrama is rated as one of the best golf courses in the world. You’ll also find polo, tennis, horse riding and a busy marina here.
If you’re a bird lover or just like to stroll through unspoilt habitat, River Guadiaro and its Estuary are natural marshland and beautiful Nature Reserve. Here you can watch birds on their migration to and from Africa.
Sotogrande may be a fairly recent development but you’ll still find some architectural novelties here. There are traditional Andalucian houses and a number of Moorish homes.
With unspoilt beaches all the way along the south coast, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Hire a car to travel around and explore them all.
