Introducing Saudi Arabia

If you’re looking for true escapism, you won’t find more seclusion – or eerie beauty – than in the Empty Quarter, a sea of sand dunes. The diving is second to none in the luxury resorts around the Red Sea, and the ancient tombs of Madain Saleh are an absolute must-see.

When To Go

Many people choose to visit Saudi Arabia between November and February to enjoy the cooler temperatures. But there’s no reason not to come in summer, especially as everywhere is air-conditioned – and it’s fresher in the Asir Mountains all year round. If you’re visiting during the Hajj, make sure to respect the religious customs.

Top Tip from SLH

Saudi Arabia observes prayer five times a day - download an athan app to keep track of shop and restaurant closures.
