Independent Minds: Markos Chaidemenos

Carved into the volcanic cliffs of Greece’s most popular island destination, the Chaidemenos family saw something special in a set of 17th-century caves, once used to store wine. As one of the first families to introduce tourism to Santorini’s once sleepy fishing village of Oia, their vision of all-white, minimalistic suites not only shaped the Canaves Oia brand, but helped define the island’s now iconic luxury accommodation aesthetic.

This hotel is truly unforgettable. It's nestle a short walk away from town but we were so happy to find how much more quiet and private this hotel is than the ones downtown. Incredible service from every staff member. Gorgeous facilities and incredible sunsets.

While the setting was pretty perfect, the service was over the top wonderful. One evening, we made a wrong turn in Oia to find the shuttle back to the hotel after dinner. The hotel called to find us and sent the driver to retrieve us!

Nice unbeatable sunset view villas

Appreciated upgrade from suite to villa due to honeymoon. Welcome drink was appreciated by my wife and she liked the amount of natural ingredients contained. Complimentary transport buses with good mannered and friendly drivers - super helpful. Liked the pool in the villa (water a bit too cold) and the Read more[SPLIT]Read lessview downstairs of the pool is amazing. Improvements could be made on breakfast table seating at the restaurant which was far too close to one another so limited social distancing. Dinner could have started earlier as sunset has already completed before they allow us to enter into the restaurant
