The country manor reborn, in Perthshire’s rolling hills
Cromlix is a tale of two halves. One is the story of an imposing Victorian country estate – with acres of landscaped gardens, chapel and its very own loch. But the hotel’s ethos – encapsulated by its swoon-worthy interiors – is vibrant, fun and refreshingly relaxed. Here, you can fill your days with woodland walks, archery, laser clays and falconry. Or indulge in doing absolutely nothing. One thing you can be sure of is a very warm welcome.
Inspired by its peaceful setting, Cromlix’s handful of bedrooms and suites are alive with verdant greens and botanical flourishes, and peppered with dramatic contemporary art. Local Scottish artisans, suppliers and designers have been given centre stage in every detail, from the local produce in the hotel’s restaurant to the lettering on its menu. Pull up a chair in The Glasshouse for dinner with a view. Indulge in afternoon tea rituals, or linger over a cocktail in the Art-Deco inspired bar. Or take your glass of Scotch to the Billiard Room for an opulent afternoon of friendly competition.
Cromlix’s owners have quite the tennis pedigree, so it’s no surprise that its outdoor courts, and coaching, are top-notch. Keep things low-key with a blissful in-room spa treatment, or (very slightly) up the ante with a leisurely game of croquet on the lawn. Dunblane is just down the road, but you’ll find escapism simply by exploring Cromlix’s acres of woodland, farmland and kitchen gardens. Lovers of the great outdoors need look no further.
Enjoy your stay!
