Introducing Ramatuelle

Centuries-old houses draped with bright bougainvillea. Twisting cobbled streets and sun-drenched squares. If you had to imagine a perfect Côte d’Azur getaway, Ramatuelle would tick every box. With famed beaches nearby and vineyards rolling into the distance, this laid-back region is made for luxury, boutique escapes.

Things to do

BEACHES & WATER
Don your biggest sunglasses and make for nearby Pampelonne Beach – one of the Cote d’Azur’s most glamorous spots. Live the high life and charter a private yacht, stopping to dive into warm, clear waters as you go.

Or if you’d prefer a more hands-on boating experience, visit Port Grimaud and book a lesson in everything from powerboating to dinghy sailing.

EVENTS
With its old streets and defensive walls, Ramatuelle can seem little changed from its early days as a safe haven from Mediterranean pirates. But every year the Ramatuelle Summer Festival transforms the village into the place to catch contemporary theatre, music and comedy. Many events take place in an outdoor amphitheatre with the night sky as an enchanting backdrop.

SPORT
Ramatuelle and the Saint Tropez peninsula are a playground for active types, with plenty of sports and activities to enjoy. Hire a bike and cycle through vineyards – or discover the coastline on foot. Play a round of golf at some of the South of France’s finest courses. Catch a game of polo, or set off on horseback to explore the countryside yourself.

Top Tip from SLH

Seek out the tiny Notre Dame church in Ramatuelle village. Built in the 1500s, its clock tower doubled as a lookout post for spotting intruders.
