Introducing Agios Ioannis

Soak up the tranquillity of island life in Agios Ioannis. This peaceful spot is entirely given over to luxury, with small, boutique hotels dotted along a golden beach. Where rocky headlands stretch out at either end, creating a peaceful bay of crystal clear water. This is a place to sit back, relax and watch the world go by.

Things to do

BEACHES
With its long sweep of soft sand and mirror-flat waters, Agios Ioannis is famed throughout Mykonos. Take your place on a sun lounger and sip cooling drinks from a nearby bar. Or set off to find your own private cove, tucked away amongst the rocks.

DAY TRIPS
An ever-present view from Agios Ioannis is the island of Delos. Hop aboard a boat for a closer look at this atmospheric isle, said in classical mythology to be the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Delos is brimming with ancient statues and temples that tell the story of its sacred status as a ‘cradle of the gods’.

WATER
You can’t sit beside Agios Ioannis bay for long without wanting to dive in. Swim out from the beach to take a break from sun bathing. Or hire a private boat to see more of the coastline. Be sure to return in time for sunset – the sight of evening falling over Delos has been treasured for centuries.

Top Tip from SLH

For a jaw-dropping view over to Delos and across the Aegean, climb up to the tiny, white chapel on the headland.
