Introducing Rhodes

The largest of the Dodecanese islands, Rhodes is bathed in sunlight all year round. You can escape from it all in the lush mountain scenery, or throw yourself into the lively nightlife. With such a rich past, there’s history everywhere you look, and a warm welcome whenever you come.

Things to do

Rhodes old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and no wonder. This is one of the best preserved and biggest medieval towns in Europe. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time.

The east side of Rhodes island is almost one long, continuous sandy beach, while the seafronts on the western side are more rocky. Lindos is the beach resort to go to if you want to see and be seen.

Many visitors come back with traditional ceramic ware from Rhodes. You’ll find factory outlets on the roadsides offering affordable deals. And in Rhodes town, you can pick up copies of medieval heraldry and manuscripts.

Top Tip from SLH

If you want to go island hopping, boats leave daily from Rhodes town to the other Dodecanese islands, including Kos and Kalymnos.
