The Tokyo Station Hotel

An air of golden-age glamour hangs over The Tokyo Station Hotel. This domed, red-hued building has been part of the city skyline for over 100 years. Today, the hotel blends Omotenashi – the time-honoured spirit of Japanese hospitality – with 21st century luxury. And with no less than ten eateries on-site, it promises an indulgent escape.

Step inside and you’ll find vaulted ceilings, polished floors and preserved period features. In the airy atrium you can have breakfast beneath the skylight, or unwind in the contemporary spa. Then head to one of the bars to sip cocktails on rich, leather chairs before an evening of fine dining.

From your palace side rooms you’ll have wonderful views of Tokyo, and when it’s time to get out and about you’ll find yourself right in the centre of the city. You could stroll through the Imperial Palace Gardens, explore the historical station beside the hotel or spend an afternoon in the luxury boutiques of Ginza – Tokyo’s designer shopping district.

Neighbourhood Guide

  • The best experience close to the hotel is: Visiting the Imperial Palace just minutes from the hotel and home to Japan’s Imperial family.
  • Our hidden gem is: TORAYA TOKYO a Japanese confectionary store that has been open since 1501.
  • Guests can live like a local by: Jogging around the Imperial Palace in the early morning. It’s the most popular jogging route in Tokyo.
  • Our favourite local restaurant is: Marunouchi House on the 7th floor in the Shin-Marunouchi Building, just front of the hotel. There are 9 distinctive eating spots including Chinese, Japanese and Italian restaurants and bars that are open until 4am.
  • Our favourite time of year here is: Winter because the street is lit up by 200 trees for the Christmas season.
  • There’s no place in the world like: Inside Tokyo Station. There are over 200 shops and restaurants.
  • The most adventurous thing to do near here is: Experience the Sumida River Cruise from Nihonbashi to Tokyo Bay to enjoy the amazing view from the river.
  • The best selfie spot nearby is: The “KITTE” building. It has a rooftop garden which has a great view of the architecture of the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building.
  • For a breath-taking view guests should go to: The Gyoko-dori street which is a historic avenue with spectacular views. It is the one of the iconic areas in heart of Tokyo.
  • The ideal night here would be to: Visiting the “Oak” bar in the hotel to try the “Tokyo Station” cocktail created by the legendary bartender Ms. Sugimoto who has worked there for over 50 years.
