A bit embarrassed as I thought the gentleman checking us in and showing us our room, taking us for a drink was a Manager, but turns out he is the Butler. We were a bit hesitant to stay at Vista Palazzo because it is not one of the grand hotels right on the lake, but we need not have worried. The hotel is just beautiful. But the very best thing about Vista Palazzo is its warm and friendly staff. They couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Alessandro, the bartender, besides mixing killer cocktails, chatted with us each time we arrived for an appertivo, and even taught my husband how to make the perfect negroni. We can't say enough about Alberto, the butler. We spent a day and a half with him, first on a 4 hour boat tour of the lake. and then a day driving to the side of the lake where tourists rarely go. Alberto made our visit to Lake Como very special. We feel like we made a new friend.
